Alice Bailey of Lucis Trust – Famous Occultists

Alice Ann Bailey was raised Anglican Christian but left the religion to pursue the occult.

This change of belief happened due to what she described as an encounter with a supernatural visitor as a teenager. Alice claimed that the visitor filled her in on the future and instructed her to prepare for great work in the future.

Later she became a member of the Theosophical Society. After spending some time with the society, things didn’t click so well, so she rejected their teachings and founded the Lucis Trust. The Lucis Trust was originally called The Lucifer Trust.

Through this new group she began published occult and new age books, a magazine and has been credited as one of the founders of the New Age Movement as a whole.

Her teachings include esoteric astrology & healing, as well as an expanded view of consciousness. None the less she has gone down as one of the most famous occultists. So who more fitting to start the list.
