Is Jesus the Messiah? Yes He Is

In Matthew 1:16, Jesus is referred to as the Messiah. When people say “Jesus Christ,” they are calling Him the Messiah, since the title “Christ” means “Anointed One” or “Messiah.”

While the Old Testament foretold the coming of the Messiah, the New Testament reveals that Jesus of Nazareth fulfills these prophecies.

Jewish expectations for the Messiah were shaped by numerous Old Testament scriptures.

They anticipated a Hebrew man (Isaiah 9:6) born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), born to a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), a prophet like Moses (Deuteronomy 18:18), a priest in the order of Melchizedek (Psalm 110:4), a king (Isaiah 11:1–4), the Son of David (Matthew 22:42), and one who would suffer before entering His glory (Isaiah 53).

Jesus fulfilled all of these prophecies, confirming His identity as the Messiah.
